Sales Tax Information for Hardware Annex
Effective Date: December 28, 2025

1. General Sales Tax Policy
Hardware Annex is required by law to collect sales tax for items shipped to destinations within the United States.

We currently collect sales tax on orders shipped to the following states unless a valid Sales & Use Tax Resale Certificate is provided and verified prior to purchase:

A–I: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa.

K–N: Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina.

O–W: Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

2. Tax-Exempt Customers
Professional builders, architects, and contractors with Sales Tax Exempt status must provide proof of tax exemption for the state where the hardware is being shipped.

Verification Required: Exemption certificates must be submitted and approved by our team prior to purchase to ensure tax is not applied to the order.

3. United States Government Purchasers
Sales tax does not apply to purchases made directly by the United States Government. To document these transactions correctly, please submit one of the following prior to purchase:

Federal Tax ID Certificate.

Certificate of Exempt Status.

Official Government Voucher.

A check from the U.S. Government made payable to Hardware Annex.

4. Shipping Limitations
Hardware Annex currently only ships within the United States. International orders, including those to U.S. territories outside the standard shipping zones, are not accepted at this time.
